Championship Night 2 featured the crowning of two new EKTT Champions.
EKTT Champion “The Legend” Byron Risner successfully defended the Eastern KY table tennis championship for the second time against Inter-County Champion Josh Frisby.
Risner will be seeded number one in the Eastern Kentucky Classic Tournament coming up on December 28, and Frisby will be the number two seed, as a result of their championships.
Josh Frisby and Byron Risner won their first Eastern Kentucky Doubles Championship by defeating Manford Wright and Dewey Moore, a red hot team, in a match for the vacant doubles title.
Risner and Frisby won both games by a score of 21-19, as we are doing old school doubles rules now for league play. This is going to be an exciting doubles rivalry.
Manford Wright battled Dewey Moore for the vacant EKTT Regional Championship. Manford Wright won his first major singles title with the victory, congrats to Manford, whom is also a top contender for the EKTT Senior Divison Championship (as is Moore).
You can bet Manford and Dewey will be in the thick of the competition at the Eastern Kentucky Classic. Either of these players is capable of making the Final Four!
Quick Results for the Round Robin tournament, featuring the top three finishers:
1st Place: Josh Frisby 2-0
2nd Place: Manford Wright 1-1
3rd Place: Dewey Moore 0-2
