EKTT Meet 15 featured three big title changes, and a total of 29 matches were played. Table tennis is reaching a fever pitch in Eastern Kentucky, and the home of table tennis in our region, West Liberty, Kentucky.
A special thanks again to our Diamond (premier sponsor) the West Liberty Tourism Committee. Players from seven different counties have visited in the last 4 months. The best table tennis venue in Kentucky is attracting visitors, players, and others to our area!
Mack Parsons of Salyersville, Kentucky, defeated Morgan County native Dalton Adkins to win the first-ever Eastern Kentucky Junior Singles table tennis championship.
What a match it was! Mack won the first game 15 to 13; then Dalton earned a 12 to 10 victory, and in the final game, Mack took the championship by a score of 13 to 11!
Every single game went to deuce (a player must win by two to win), and both players left it all on the table. Both players were winners in terms of effort.
The Junior Championship will be defended every 4 to 5 weeks (or meets). The player with the best won-loss record, and at least 50 % attendance will get the next title match.
Mitchell O’Neal won over Eastern Kentucky Senior Singles Champion Langley Franklin to claim his first major EKTT Championship. Both players have had strong runs in the division. Langley has held the title since September.
The Senior Division has been our strongest division. Consistent attendance, and many players are in the 1000 USATT League Rating mark.
